When exactly does self-doubt set in? When we are children, we have no doubts that we can accomplish great things. We honestly believe that we can accomplish anything. But somewhere along the way, other people tell us that our dreams and goals are not realistic. Someone tells us that our ideas are silly and maybe even stupid. And we then begin the horrible cycle of self-doubt. We tell ourselves that the visions that we have are impossible. We let the creative part of us go by the wayside because other people tell us it is not feasible. And eventually, we forget how to believe in ourselves.
God created each of us in a unique form. He created us with individual tastes, likes and dislikes, and with a different spark that resonates within us. What makes me excited and content is not going to likely resonate with you. And the things that you enjoy may not be something that I would enjoy. This difference is what makes us unique. But for some reason, we try to be like everyone else. And we allow other people’s expectations to form the path of our life. We begin to restrain ourselves and our natural creativity and talents because we think it does not conform with society or that it isn’t acceptable.
When you are born, God puts a creative vision within you because it is something that only you can accomplish. And he put that spark within you for a reason and a purpose. It is wrong to try to hide it. It harms our spirit, and it makes us carry doubt and fear. It doesn’t matter what anyone says or thinks, keep that belief in yourself. Keep dreaming those dreams. And keep letting those creative juices flow. Without them, the world would be very bland and boring. And without you, the world would be incomplete.
